Kanye West’s 10th Album ‘DONDA’ Is Officially Certified Platinum

It’s real! While Kanye West‘s 10th album might’ve been dubbed a classic already in our hearts, ‘DONDA‘ has now officially earned certified platinum status by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).

After racking up over 1 million equivalent album sales since its August 2021 release, Ye’s 10th album — which is also his 9th solo LP — is the only one of his solo albums to hit 1 million. His others that follow behind are 2019’s ‘Jesus Is King‘ and 2022’s ‘DONDA 2.’ As you know the sequel was self-released last month via Ye’s Stem Player; thus making it ineligible for the Billboard charts — so the same fate looks like it will not come true for the sequel.

Additionally, ‘DONDA‘ is Ye’s 9th solo project to top the Billboard 200 albums chart. Ye’s first album ‘The College Dropout‘ is his only LP that hasn’t topped the chart. After five days of tracking, ‘DONDA‘ debuted on Billboard 200 at #1, with 309,000 equivalent album units. Ye currently ties a record with Eminem with his 10th consecutive chart-topper album. #Socialites, thoughts?
