Kanye West is back with another interview and he’s setting the record straight about his mental health.

While speaking with X17 Online Ye made it clear that he is NOT bipolar. Instead, he believes he’s “slightly autistic.”

“In no way… I am not bipolar. I’m not in some kind of episode, but I may be slightly autistic. Like, ‘Rain Man,’ and that’s part of my superpower. That’s why I can produce tracks, design, and do so many things.” Ye went on to say that he doesn’t even know how to hate people because autistic people are all about love. Of course, Kanye switched gears and ranted on about how he believes China controls the U.S. because they make all of the cell phones that people in America use. He stated, “The Jewish people are the middlemen. They sold America to China. They sold the American media.” In the 4:54 minute-long interview, he also talks about the Balenciaga scandal and being dropped from brands over his antisemitic tweets.

Now, earlier this year, Kanye actually opened up about what it feels like to live with bipolar disorder. He spoke with David Letterman back in April and said, “When you’re in this state, you’re hyper-paranoid about everything… Everyone is now an actor. Everything’s a conspiracy,” West said. “You pretty much don’t trust anyone.”

Kanye was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and admitted to psychiatric care in 2016. Speaking about his experience with Letterman, Ye explained, “They handcuff you, they drug you, they put you on the bed, and they separate you from everyone you know,” West explained. Though he found it to be somewhat cruel, West said, “That’s something that I am so happy that I experienced myself so I can start by changing that moment.”

His ex-wife Kim Kardashian also previously spoke about his disorder in 2020 after he revealed some of their private issues to the public during his presidential campaign. She said at the time:

“Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” she wrote two years ago. “Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor,” she wrote on her social media accounts. “People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.”

She added, “He is a brilliant but complicated person who on top of the pressures of being an artist and a black man, who experienced the painful loss of his mother and has to deal with the pressure and isolation that is heightened by his” bipolar disorder, she wrote. Kim closed her statement by asking that the media and the public give them “the compassion and empathy that is needed” so that they could get through that difficult time.

Kim and Kanye have recently finalized their divorce after almost two years. The former couple will share joint physical and legal custody of their four children, and Kanye will pay Kim $200,000 a month in child support. In addition to that, half of the kids’ educational and security costs.
