Kanye West Gains $600K Victory In Yeezy Fraud Lawsuit

Toki Sen-I Co., the Japanese fabric supplier that was suing Kanye West over stealing his Yeezy fabric, has dropped the $600,000 fraud lawsuit against the rapper.

Just before the case was set to go to trial, the company stated they were dismissing all claims against Ye and his apparel company.

Furthermore, the two entities began working together in 2015 as Ye began work on his brand’s sneakers. Toki Sen-I Co. would deliver samples to Kanye’s company, and had done so, without any issues, until June 2018.

Then, Ye had sent a large order for various materials and went into production. The fabric company requested a downpayment, but claimed Ye never fulfilled it.

While they all had a good rapport leading up to that point, the company was taken aback when Ye said he wouldn’t pay for the fabric. The company said he owed $624,051 for the material.

As Toki Sen badmouth Ye’s brand in the lawsuit, calling it a “sham” without capital, assets or member interest, Ye clapped back and accused them of never delivering the products he placed an order for. Therefore, he wasn’t paying them.

Ye claimed, “Plaintiff never delivered the allegedly contracted- for product, and Yeezy Apparel allegedly did not pay the full price for that undelivered product. Despite being a basic business dispute between companies, Plaintiff needlessly inflates this case into a 4-count complaint under both tort and contract theories, baselessly including the celebrity member of Yeezy Apparel (Mr. West). At the outset, because Plaintiff has not clearly pleaded the terms of a contract, it is unclear which of the contractual terms alleged was purportedly breached.”
