Kanye West Files Statement Of Candidacy For 2020 Presidential Run

Kanye West continues to take steps to securing his spot for the 2020 presidential run, and now he has filed his next set of crucial paperwork.

According to TMZ, Kanye filed a Statement of Candidacy, which shows he’s raised or spent more than $5,000 in campaign-related expenses. Under federal campaign law, Kanye now qualifies for candidacy.

Kanye also named his political committee, “Kanye 2020.” He lists his current residence as Cody, Wyoming.

As we reported yesterday, Ye took his first step and filed with the Federal Election Commission in his bid for office. The mogul filed the first form needed by the FEC ‘Statement of Organization,’ which declares that the Kanye 2020 campaign will serve as the “Principal Campaign Committee” with Kanye as the candidate. The party is listed as BDY, which per TMZ means Birthday Party.

Earlier this week reports circulated that Kanye West had allegedly dropped out of the 2020 presidential race after receiving a two percent national polling and missing crucial ballot deadlines.

Multiple campaign professionals told New York Magazine’s Intelligencer that “West took early steps last week toward getting his name on the ballot in Florida and other states as a third-party candidate running against Joe Biden and Donald Trump.”

For now, it looks like Ye is getting closer to the top!
