Kanye West Facing Signature Legitimacy Issues For Illinois Ballot
As Kanye West moves forward with his bid for president, now vying for his home-state of Illinois to get him on the ballot, he’s facing signature legitimacy issues with state officials — this after paying $30,000 to get on the ballot last week.
Specifically, they are questioning if the petition signatures he submitted are valid or not. The Illinois Board of Elections have filed three objections against him and plan to evaluate the validity of the signatures, then follow with a meeting to determine if his name will appear on the ballot this upcoming election season.

Last week, West submitted 412 petition papers filled with signatures. One objector, Sean Tenner — who was enraged with the rapper’s Harriet Tubman remarks — conducted his own investigation into the documents and discovered only 1,000 of the 3,200 names were valid. Should his findings be cross-checked and confirmed by others’, this will prevent West from moving forward, as 2,500 verified signatures are needed for eligibility in Illinois.
