Long before Justin Bieber would turn to religion and married Hailey Bieber, the singer experienced a rather difficult period in his life plagued by scandals and run-ins with the law, Around the time Justin was arrested for a DUI in 2014, the “Peaches” singer was said to have been neighbors with Judge Judy Sheindlin, who claims in a new interview that the Biebs was petrified of her.
While speaking with Access Hollywood, the TV personality recounted how she was living in a house near Justin’s LA home, and by that time, he had already built up a reputation for being quite the disturbing neighbor to be around. In fact, things were said to have gotten so bad that Justin would walk on eggshells around Judy.
“He’s scared to death of me,” she said. “There was a period of time before he grew up — when he was foolish, and doing foolish things.” Judy went on to assert that Justin would pay his security money to let him know if she was outside, just so that he wouldn’t have to run into her. “I understood that he was paying the front door people to let them know when I was there, coming and going, so he wouldn’t have to bump into me.”
During Justin’s difficult time in the limelight in 2014, which saw him arrested for a DUI, Judy actually gave an interview to CBS Los Angeles at the time, saying the pop star may have been taking his celebrity status for granted. His countless antics were somewhat becoming so occurring that even his neighbors had gotten tired of him.
It should also be noted that Judy was not the only neighbor who found it problematic living near or next to the Canadian-born hitmaker.
“Being a celebrity is a gift,” she expressed. “You could either treat it reverently or you could make a fool out of yourself. And he’s doing a very good job of making a fool out of himself.”
“I think it’s sad. And nobody’s going to remember that he was a marginal singer. But they’re going to remember a young kid who had a chance to have it all and who is blowing it by acting like a fool.”
