Smollett stands by her brother and said it has been “f****king painful” due to the public scrutiny he’s faced within the past year. She also filed for divorce from her 10-year marriage to musician Josiah Bell earlier this year.
“[It’s] one of the most painful things my family’s ever experienced — to love someone as much as we love my brother, and to watch someone who you love that much go through something like this, that is so public, has been devastating.”
Due to the nature of Jussie’s case, she is unable to discuss it any further since the investigation is currently ongoing.
