Jurassic fans rejoice as the franchise is closing out their Jurassic World Trilogy with ‘Jurassic World Dominion’
Everyone’s favorite dinosaurs and humans are back and this time it’s to find out if they can actually live amongst each other in the new world.
The film which picks up 4 years after following ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, features cast members that reach back to the 1993 film to bring this part of the franchise to a close. We’re talking about cast members like Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum, who are joined by new cast members like DeWanda Wise, and Mamoudou Athie.
For Dern, Goldblum, and Neill, their ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ appearance marks the first time that they have appeared together since 1993 reaching back to the ‘Jurassic Park’ trilogy.
Hollywood Unlocked was on the carpet and had a chance to speak with some of the cast and crew who despite it being said that this would be the final film in the Jurassic World trilogy, assured fans that the story will continue in some way.
Filming During Covid
The making of this film not only marks a close to the franchise but opened up a new view of filming during a pandemic. In February of 2020, filming began on ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, but as the world began to shut down, so did movie production.
By July of 2020, filming was able to resume making this cast and crew one of the first to get back to filming, but not without a few complications.
Having to essentially create their own filming bubble as the NBA did, Universal rented an entire hotel for the remainder of filming with covid protocols at an all-time high for the cast as well as the 750-person production team.
Despite some major setbacks well out of anyone’s control, filming finally concluded in November after more than 100 days of shooting.
