Earlier this week, the decision was made by the U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney who ordered David Werking’s parents to pay the hefty price for destroying his beloved collection. Eight months prior, Werking won the lawsuit after claiming the collection was worth $25,000 and said he made the discovery after moving out of his parents’ home ten months after filing for divorce.

Judge Maloney also stated that Werking’s parents must pay an additional $14,500 for his attorney’s fees.

Originally, Werking filed the lawsuit and sued his parents for $86,000 after confronting his father about the situation. In an email, he said, “If you had a problem with my belongings, you should have stated that at the time and I would have gone elsewhere. Instead, you choose to keep quiet and behave vindictively.”

In response to the email, Werking’s father said:

“Frankly, David, I did you a big favor getting rid of all this stuff. Believe it or not, one reason for why I destroyed your porn was for your own mental and emotional health…I would have done the same if I had found a kilo of crack cocaine,”
