Judge Dismisses Paternity Suit Alleging JAY-Z Fathered Secret Child Name Rymir Satterthwaite

As we previously shared, Satterthwaite, along with his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, have been alleging since the ’90s that the “99 Problems” rapper impregnated her, making Rymir the Hip-Hop billionaire’s son. However, JAY-Z has vehemently denied the allegations from day one.

More than 10 years ago, Satterthwaite and his legal guardian/godmother Lillie Coley, filed a paternity case against JAY-Z, born Shawn Carter, seeking DNA testing. In 2025, Coley filed a new lawsuit in federal court in California. The new complaint accused JAY-Z of neglect and alleged he and state officials used outdated court orders and liens to pressure her and Satterthwaite. She claimed the alleged moves sent her into bankruptcy and jeopardized her property.

After several petitions and motions, the decade-long paternity battle came to a close in November 2025 when a federal judge dismissed Coley’s California lawsuit with prejudice. This means the judge dismissed the case, permanently, and the petitioners cannot file again. The court also denied Coley’s emergency request to stop a sanctions hearing.

Before the judge dismissed the case in November 2025, Rymir Satterthwaite repeatedly took to social media with his allegations and case updates. Leading up to the dismissal, he shared a post clarifying his decision to step back from the paternity case. He claimed:

“It’s been a crazy couple of weeks. But, I have not stopped my fight. I did withdraw my case, it’s for a reason. It’s not ‘cause I’m stopping with it or not going to refile it or anything like that. It’s just a lot going on behind closed doors. That’s only one case that we withdrew for right now. But it’s a lot going on. You know how this industry works. These judges, these lawyers, these high celebrity people, they try to use all different types of tactics, bully tactics, different types of stuff to slow it down and just change the narrative.

So, we had to step back and play chess not checkers. So, we’ll be sitting back and we’re just observing everything right now. I just ask that y’all keep the support. Keep the support. I have not gotten any DNA tests. I have not gotten any settlement or anything like that. I wouldn’t just take it. I would let y’all know, honestly. Even if it wasn’t y’all business, y’all been here for me, all these years, supporting me. I wouldn’t dare just run away with no money or nothing like that. That’s not what it is. As I said before, just keep your eyes open.

This is bigger than me. This was never just about me. I’m trying to change things for the world, for the future. We need this to be changed. We don’t need to continue to go into these court rooms and don’t get fair due process and everybody don’t get discoveries — you just get treated unfairly. I’m standing on business and I will continue to fight.

Please don’t think that just because y’all seen that withdrawal that it’s over. It’s not over, y’all. Continue the fight with me. Continue to support me. I will support y’all. I love all y’all. Let’s just keep moving forward. That’s all we can do, right? Can’t sit there and dwell on nothing. I got a family. I gotta take care of my family. I’m grown. That’s what I do. Don’t sit there and complain about too much. Try not to complain at all. But, I appreciate all y’all’s love and support. It’s not over.”
