Looks like an employee from the L.A department of Water and Power is accusing Judge Greg Mathis of pulling out his firearm during a heated confrontation.
According to TMZ, the employee made a report that Mathis was asked to move his vehicle and Mathis allegedly for pissed off and things escalated after a few words were exchanged. Ultimately, the employee reported that Mathis flashed his gun and pointed it at the workers. But according to Mathis, things didn’t quite go down like the employees are claiming.
While speaking with the news outlet, Mathis says the employees were blocking his car in and wasn’t able to pull out of his driveway. Mathis went on to explain that one of the workers “threatened” him by saying Mathis would get ran over by their work truck if he didn’t move. After hearing those words from one of the workers, Mathis says he told them that he had a firearm, but never flashed it nor pointed it at the employees.
When Mathis was younger, he got involved in criminal activities and was eventually arrested for various offenses. While serving time in prison, he turned his life around, earned his GED, and then pursued higher education. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University and later earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Judge Mathis went on to become the youngest judge in Michigan’s history when he was elected as a district court judge in 1995. He served on the bench for several years before gaining national fame with his television show.
As a TV judge, Judge Mathis is known for his no-nonsense approach, fair judgment, and his dedication to helping those who have faced challenges in their lives. He often emphasizes the importance of education and personal responsibility.
In more recent news, Mathis’ hit show which had been on air for more than 20 years was recently canceled — Greg Mathis took to his social media to speak more on the big news and what viewers can expect to see in the near future — like taking his talents to a Black studio, and hiring more Black people.
Mathis began his video, “Hey folks, I’m sure by now you know that Warner Bros. is getting out of the ‘Judge Show’ business, cancelling me [‘Judge Mathis’] and ‘People’s Court.’ But, the good news is the other studios aren’t getting out of the “Judge Show” business. And as you can see with this robe still on, something might be happening real soon.”
Mathis continued, “And in fact, if it does happen, it’s going to be — and it will — with a Black studio this time. I want to be able to empower Black businessmen and Black studios, so that they can hire more Black people and put more Black shows on the air. Because, the commitments we receive from corporate America and Hollywood have been rescinded for the most part.”
