It was revealed by sources close to Trump that he has decided on Judge Amy Coney Barrett to fill in the seat at the Supreme Court. However, they also stated he could change his mind at the last minute but he is set on choosing the 48-year-old  7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judge after the nomination was already approved by Senate Republicans as they committed to taking up a vote without hearing the official announcement.

The news comes after Ruth Bader Ginsburg was laid to rest at the nation’s Capitol earlier today.

Back in 2018, Barrett lost to Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh after she had a one-on-one meeting with President Trump. But allegedly, the meeting didn’t go well since she contracted conjunctivitis(pink eye) and had to wear dark sunglasses. However, close sources say he wanted Barnett to take Ginsburg’s seat.

“She was the plan all along. She’s the most distinguished and qualified by traditional measures. She has the strongest support among the legal conservatives who have dedicated their lives to the court. She will contribute most to the court’s jurisprudence in the years and decades to come,”

Barrett was seen at the White House earlier this week and reportedly impressed Trump and others during several meetings.
