MSNBC host Joy Reid recently shared a strong message urging Black individuals who may be hesitant to support Kamala Harris for president to reconsider, warning that they will look “weird” if they step to the other side.
In a new TikTok video posted to Reid’s account the TV personality explained how Kamala Harris is making waves as a cultural icon and is on the way to create history as potentially the first female president in the United States. Additionally, if elected, she would become the second Black president in the country’s history.
Joy Reid also criticized Amber Rose for endorsing Donald Trump and speaking at the Republican National Convention recently. Reid emphasized the importance of not allowing other people of color to align themselves with the MAGA movement, suggesting that the door should be closed behind Amber Rose. “Anyone who claims to have any connection to the culture you’re going to look real weird and lonely on that side. The door needs to close behind Amber and she look crazy over there, but shut the door behind her.”
Throughout her six minute rant, Joy expressed how that Trump and the Republican party do not genuinely prioritize the interests of Black individuals. She bluntly expresses that African-Americans who choose to vote for Trump in the upcoming November election are profoundly misguided and disoriented.

As we previously shared, Rose and Reid a little back and forth on social media when the Reid criticized Amber’s appearance the convention saying, “I don’t want to say she’s black because she has said she’s not, so I don’t want to say this black woman.”
“This woman who is of whatever race that she has claimed, she’s said she’s not Black, but [the RNC] brought somebody whose whole career is based on black.”
Which led Amber to respond to Joy in a now-deleted tweet, “Hi @JoyAnnReid I’ve never said I wasn’t black I said I identify as biracial. I’m not going to invalid my white father to make you feel more comfortable. Stop being a race baiter ur president does enough race baiting for all of us.”
