ABC News reports that Behar will be taking time off from co-hosting “The View” as a precautionary measure against COVID-19

The co-host shared that she had. phone call with her daughter where she decided she should take a step away from the public and her role on the show,

“I get a text from my daughter, and she says to me, ‘So are you staying home?’ And I wrote, ‘Well I don’t know. Why?'” Behar, 77, said. “She says, ‘Get in reality, mom.'”

“I decided that I think I’m gonna stay home for a while. I’m gonna socially distance myself a little bit,” Behar added. “So next week you won’t see me here.”

As of now, there is no indication that anyone on The View team has tested positive for the virus, but, they have been taking preventative measures to stop the spread, including not having a live studio audience.

“The staff here, the executive producers, everybody has really been doing their due diligence to clean the place up,” Behar said. “I’m in a higher risk group because of my age, but I’m perfectly healthy. I don’t look my age but I’m actually up there. The number makes me dizzy.”

Behar will not be on show as of March 16.
