Looks like the US Army decided to cut ties with Jonathan Majors as a spokesperson in their ad campaign after the rising star was arrested for an alleged “domestic dispute.” Majors criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry spoke with LA Times and claims they have received two written statements from the woman in question saying she recanted her statement.

Not long after the actors arrest the military organization released a statement saying,”The US Army is aware of the arrest of Jonathan Majors and we are deeply concerned by the allegations surrounding his arrest. We recently released two ads in which Mr. Majors appears,” they continued. “While Mr. Majors is innocent until proven guilty, prudence dictates that we pull our ads until the investigation into these allegations is complete.”

Chaudhry quickly addressed the US Army pulling Majors from the campaign. “We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently.” She told Army Times. Chaudhry also said they plan to present video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, along with witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the incident.

As we previously reported, Jonathan Majors was taken into custody in New York City after allegedly assaulting and strangling a woman; who is reportedly his girlfriend who confronted him about texting another female. According to TMZ, local police were called on Majors — who’s starred in films like ‘Creed III,’ “Ant-Man,’ and more — for reportedly assaulting a woman, who has since been reportedly identified as his girlfriend, still unnamed. Meanwhile, Majors’ team is shutting down the claims and is calling cap on the alleged physical altercation.

The publication claims that their law enforcement sources tell them that Jonathan Majors was arrested and booked on Saturday morning (March 25), and is being charged with strangulation, assault and harassment. Reportedly, police received a call for service and pulled up to a residence near the Chelsea neighborhood in Manhattan, around 11 a.m. EST.

Upon police arrival, the alleged victim in the incident, a female, told officers that she and the actor had gotten into a dispute. The female then claimed that things began to escalate when Majors allegedly proceeded to attack her. The publication adds that the alleged victim wore visible injuries on her person. They listed a laceration behind her ear, and both redness and marks on her face.

After its initial report, the publication updated that the woman, who they claim is Majors’ girlfriend, reportedly told police that she and the actor were returning home from a bar in Brooklyn, when an argument broke out. The publication says its sources told them that the woman confronted Majors about another woman texting him. She reportedly tried to “sneak a peek” at his phone, which the alleged female victim claimed is what angered Majors.
