As we previously shared, the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agent, now identified as Ross, fatally shot 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, Minnesota as she sat in her car and attempted to drive away from ICE agents. Good leaves behind three children.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Good was killed during federal operations. However, she was not under investigation and not the target of any law enforcement activity. Additionally, she had no known criminal involvement tied to the federal operation taking place.

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said Good was allegedly “attempting to run over our law enforcement officers” when an ICE agent fired the fatal shots.

Donald Trump And JD Vance Claim ICE Agent Who Fatally Shot Woman In Minneapolis Acted In Self-Defense

Following the fatal shooting, President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance have both insisted the ICE agent acted within reason, deeming the incident an act of self-defense by the agent. Trump took to Truth Social and said:

“I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch. The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.

Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE Agents on a daily basis. They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE. We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate! – PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP”

Meanwhile, JD Vance told reporters as a press conference:

“This is a guy who’s actually done a very, very important job for the United States of America. He’s been assaulted. He’s been attacked. He’s been injured because of it.”

ICE Agent Who Fatally Shot Woman In Minneapolis Was Dragged By Car Last Year In Similar Traffic Stop

As VP Vance revealed, the ICE agent involved in the Renee Good shooting in Minneapolis is the same officer who was dragged about 300 feet (100 yards) by car last Summer. In the June 2025 incident, an illegal immigrant and convicted child sex offender, Roberto Carlos Muñoz, attempted to flee federal officers during a stop in Bloomington, Minnesota.

During the stop, agents claimed Muñoz struck the ICE agent with his car and then dragged him 300 feet. The agent suffered significant cuts, resulting in over 30 stitches. In December 2025, a jury convicted Muñoz of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous and deadly weapon which caused bodily injury.

Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem also confirmed agent Ross as the same officer in both incidents. She told the press, “The very same officer who was attacked today had previously been dragged by an anti-ICE rioter who had rammed him with a car and drugged him back in June. He sustained injuries at that time as well.”
