Jonathan Majors To Be Sentenced Today For Domestic Violence Case

As expected, Jonathan Majors, will be facing a pivotal moment as he awaits sentencing in a New York court today for a domestic violence case involving his former girlfriend. The incident, which took place in March 2023, led to a conviction that has had significant repercussions on Majors’ professional life.

The court’s decision today could potentially result in Majors serving a year in prison, though there is also a possibility of receiving probation. The outcome remains uncertain as both Majors’ legal team and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg have not disclosed the sentencing recommendations they will present to the judge.

Following the guilty verdict in December, Marvel Studios swiftly severed ties with Majors, who was set to portray the character Kang the Conqueror in their productions. This abrupt decision marked a major setback for Majors, whose career was on a promising trajectory prior to the legal troubles.

The altercation in question reportedly occurred when Majors and his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, were involved in a heated argument inside a chauffeured car last year. Jabbari alleged that Majors physically assaulted her, causing injuries including a fractured finger. In his defense, Majors claimed that Jabbari had become aggressive after discovering a text message on his phone, leading to a struggle as he attempted to retrieve his phone and leave the situation.

The jury’s verdict found Majors guilty of misdemeanor assault and a harassment violation, while acquitting him of other charges brought against him. Despite efforts by his legal team to challenge the conviction, a recent ruling by a Manhattan judge upheld the guilty verdict.

“As he eagerly anticipates closing this chapter, he looks forward to redirecting his time and energy fully toward his family and his art,” Majors’ lawyers said in a statement last week after losing their bid to have the conviction thrown out.

As the sentencing hearing unfolds today, the outcome will not only impact Majors’ personal life but also his future in the entertainment industry.
