Things are still going south for the actor Jonathan Majors after being accused of domestic violence. According to Deadline, Majors was set to have a movie come out but the released date has been postponed.
The news outlet reports, that Major was apart of the film ‘Magazine Dreams’ which was set to premiere on December 8 but now it looks like movie won’t be released until sometime after the actor faces trial on November 29. As we previously reported, was taken into custody on March 25 after an alleged domestic violence incident involving him and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The woman claims the altercation left her with various marks, a laceration, and a finger fracture.
But in more recent news, it has been reported that she is now being accused of assaulting the actor seven months after their alleged altercation became public. According to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI) for the New York Police Department, Jabbari turned herself into authorities after the actor filed a countersuit against her. In June, Majors filed the lawsuit in which he claimed that she attacked him, and not the other way around.
Majors has denied all of the allegations against him. According to Insider, on June 21 the day after one of his court appearances Majors reportedly spoke with law enforcement and told his own version of what actually happened that night — alleging that his “drunk and hysterical” ex-girlfriend scratched, slapped, and grabbed at his face, causing pain and bleeding, according to a domestic incident report and sworn affidavit obtained by Insider.
Majors’ ex also continues to claim the actor grabbed her “right arm, [placed] it behind my body, and use his hands to twist my right forearm and right middle finger, causing substantial pain to my right forearm and right middle finger.” Court documents also claim Majors strikes the victim with his hand on her right ear and caused a cut, and that he pushed her into a car using both of his hands, causing her to fall backward.
Majors’ lawyers, Priya Chaudhry, responded back to those allegations outside of court saying, “We have provided the District Attorney with irrefutable evidence that the woman is lying, including video proof showing nothing happened, especially not where she claimed,” she said. “We did this with the explicit promise from the DA that they would not ‘fix’ their case and change it as we proved the woman is lying. This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless claims,” Chaudhry continued.
