Jonathan Majors, known for his work in the film industry, has been sentenced to participate in a 52-week domestic violence intervention program following a conviction for reckless assault in the third degree and harassment.

The charges, classified as a misdemeanor and a violation, could have resulted in a one-year prison sentence. However, prosecutors recommended a different approach, suggesting domestic violence programming along with the possibility of a six-month jail term if the program is not completed. Additionally, a full order of protection for the victim, Grace Jabbari, was granted.

The sentencing will require Majors to attend in-person sessions in Los Angeles, along with continuing mental health counseling and therapy. Compliance with these requirements will be monitored by the court, with the first check-in scheduled for September 13. Failure to comply could lead to a jail term of up to 364 days.

Majors’ legal team expressed optimism about his future in the film industry and requested the option for virtual sessions, which the judge may consider based on employment circumstances.

The charges against Majors stem from an incident involving his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, last year in New York City where a confrontation occurred over a text message on Majors’ phone, leading to physical altercations and subsequent legal actions.

After Majors was found guilty, a source confirmed to news outlets that the actor was dropped by Marvel Studios. The Creed actor was set to reprise the role of Kang in the Multiverse Saga.

Despite the guilty verdict, Majors has always maintained he is innocent.
