Jonathan Majors returned to court this Thursday for another hearing in his domestic violence case and once again had his supportive girlfriend, Meagan Good standing strong right by his side.
Today, the judge in his case set a new tentative trial date of Sept. 6 after prosecutors from the Manhattan district attorney’s office requested more time for discovery. Doug Cohen, a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said, “We look forward to presenting the full facts and evidence at trial.” Per Deadline, the hearing reportedly lasted “literally two-minute[s].”
As we previously reported, Majors, 33, was initially arrested in Manhattan on March 25 after an alleged domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend. The unnamed woman accused him of twisting her arm, striking her head, and pushing her into a vehicle. He allegedly did it “so violently, she fell on the pavement,” according to reports. The woman was treated at a hospital for minor neck and head injuries, including a cut to her ear. If found guilty, Majors faces up to a year behind bars.
However, Majors’ legal team believes things will eventually work in his favor. Criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, who has represented Crash filmmaker Paul Haggis and Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah, has maintained that “Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone,” Chaudhry claimed in a previous statement. “We have provided irrefutable evidence to the district attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”

Chaudhry has insisted that Majors’ ex-girlfriend— who was granted a full temporary order of protection— was the real perpetrator in the case, and called the whole ordeal a “witch hunt.” Chaudhry also believes it was motivated by “racial bias” against her client.
Chaudhry said that her team has since provided the Manhattan District Attorney’s office with “irrefutable evidence” that the alleged victim in the March 25 incident that led to his arrest “is lying” about the entire case.
“Yet this false case continues, the woman’s claimed location shifts, and her story morphs,” Chaudhry said in the statement. “This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless claims. Instead of dismissing the allegations in the face of the woman’s clear lies, the DA has adjusted the charges to match the woman’s new lies.” The attorney also stated that her team has “obtained even more video evidence of his innocence, but we are hesitant to share it, for fear the DA will tip the woman off to change her story again.”
More On Jonathan Majors
Majors, who has been dropped as a client and from major projects, has been trying his best to stay positive amid all the legal drama.
He’s also been kept busy thanks to his new girlfriend, Meagan Good. As we previously reported, the actress, 41, separated from her ex-husband Devon Franklin, 45, in December 2021 after nine years of marriage, later finalizing their divorce in June 2022. PEOPLE later confirmed that she and Majors were officially dating in mid-May. The two have been going strong ever since.
