Three days before Netflix released “Tiger King”, Joe Exotic filed a $94 million federal civil rights lawsuit from prison against his former business partners and government agencies.

According to WTSP, Joe Exotic, real name Joseph Maldonado-Passage, filed the lawsuit against multiple government agencies and former business partners for entrapment. The lawsuit states Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin, informant James Garretson, former business partner Jeffrey Lowe and a federal wildlife agent planned to have him captured for “two murder for hire schemes.” Exotic is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence after being convicted of hiring a hitman to kill Baskin.
