Joe Budden Insists Megan Thee Stallion Is NOT A ‘Superstar’ — ‘She Ain’t Sold Sh*t’
Yikes! During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Budden insists that Megan Thee Stallion is NOT a “superstar,” adding that, “She ain’t sold sh*t!”
While Meg’s made some notable strides since entering the game — like earning two No. 1 Hot 100 Billboard singles for 2020’s “WAP,” ft. Cardi B, and 2020’s “Savage (Remix) ft. Beyonce;’ plus her endorsement deals with Revlon, Popeye’s Chicken and CashApp — Joe feels like Meg hasn’t hit “superstar” status.
With her debut album ‘Good News‘ becoming certified platinum eight months after its release, Joe says, “You’re not a superstar if you can’t sell an album, what the f**k are we talking about right now? What stops her from being a superstar if we’re taking out sales? She ain’t sold sh*t. Got every brand deal in the world, but also has all the backing from different people. She’s got a lot going on. That’s the game today.” Comparing Meg to Adele, Joe adds, “Y’all are just making rules up. You still got to know how to sell a f***ing album. When Adele come out, you gotta move. When n***as come out, you gotta move. When a superstar comes out, you mortal, mere minion n***as have to move.
