Joe Biden’s Press Secretary Resigns After Making Derogatory & Misogynistic Threats Towards A Journalist

Joe Biden’s White House Deputy Press Secretary TJ Ducklo, who’s been battling stage-four lung cancer since December 2019, has resigned after making derogatory and misogynistic threats towards a female journalist.

On Saturday (Feb. 13), White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki released a statement, “We accepted the resignation of TJ Ducklo after a discussion with him this evening. This conversation occurred with the support of the White House Chief of Staff. We are committed to striving every day to meet the standard set by the President in treating others with dignity and respect, with civility and with a value for others through our words and our actions.”

A day prior to Psaki’s statement, Ducklo was placed on a one-week suspension without pay. Simultaneously, Vanity Fair reported that Ducklo had a verbal confrontation with Tara Palmeri, a reporter for Politico. Palmeri was working on a story about Ducklo’s relationship with a reporter for Axios, Alexi McCammond. While Palmeri reached out to McCommand for a statement, a male Politico reported contacted Ducklo; however, he ended up calling Palmeri to object and have the piece scrapped. Reportedly, along with making “derogatory and misogynistic comments,” he allegedly told Palmeri, “I will destroy you” if this story is published. After the incident, Ducklo resigned and apologized for his regrettable, embarrassing and disgusting behavior.
