Joe Biden Says The Only Way He’ll Drop Out The Presidential Race Is If He’s Diagnosed With ‘Medical Condition’

President Biden affirms his commitment to staying in the presidential race, even though he acknowledges that there is a specific circumstance that could potentially lead him to reconsider his decision.

President Joe Biden recently sat down for an interview with BET News correspondent Ed Gordon, scheduled to air on Wednesday, where he disclosed that he would step back from his reelection campaign if advised to do so by his medical team. “If I had some medical condition that emerged and doctors came to me and said, ‘You’ve got this problem, you’ve got that problem.’ … Look when I originally ran I said I was going to be a transitional candidate, and I thought I’d be able to move from this and pass it on to someone else,” Biden said.

He continued, “I think I’ve demonstrated that I know how to get things done for the country, in spite of the fact that we couldn’t get it done. But there’s more to do, and I’m reluctant to walk away from that.”

This statement may appear to question Vice President Kamala Harris’ competence, but President Biden clarified that he believes the nation would not be as polarized if he were to step down from the race. Despite his age of 81 years, Biden views his accumulated wisdom as a valuable asset that he brings to the campaign.

In the face of criticism from certain Democrats urging him to withdraw from the race due to his recent debate performance and occasional lapses, such as mistakenly referring to his Vice President as Vice President Trump, President Biden remains resolute in his determination to continue his campaign.

However, President Biden’s stance remains firm that only a significant medical intervention would prevent him from being a candidate in the upcoming November election. He is set to be officially designated as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the 2024 election at the Democratic National Convention in August.
