Joe Biden Demands Americans On Unemployment Accept Jobs Offered Or Lose Benefits
Oop! Somebody go ahead and hashtag “Biden Don’t Play,” because President Joe Biden is demanding that any and all Americans on unemployment must accept any jobs offered to them or they’ll lose their benefits.
On Monday (May 10), Biden announced that his administration will not allow unemployed people to turn down offers for a “suitable job.” He explained, “We’re going to make it clear that anyone who is collecting unemployment who is offered a suitable job must take the job or lose their unemployment benefits.” However, he did stress that there would be “a few COVID-19 related exceptions [so that people] aren’t forced to choose between their basic safety and a paycheck.”

In laymen’s terms, if you’re currently receiving the $300 weekly unemployment benefits — which are scheduled to end on September 6, 2021 — you must accept a job offer upon receipt or risk losing your benefits. Biden adds, “No one should be allowed to game the system and we’ll insist the law is followed but let’s not take our eye off the ball. We need to stay focused on the real problems in front of us—beating this pandemic and creating jobs.”
