A former Senate worker is accusing Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden of sexually assaulting her during his time as a US senator.
USA Today reports Tara Reade sat down with the Associated Press to discuss her experience working with Joe Biden as an aide during the 1990s. Reade stated the alleged assault took place in a Capitol Hill building during 1993 and filed a report with police on Thursday. Last year, Reade accused Biden of inappropriately touching her but did not describe it as sexual assault.

A statement released by Biden’s deputy manager and communication director Kate Bedingfield said he has “dedicated his public life to changing the culture and the laws around violence against women.” His campaign has also denied the allegations as per Bedingfield and stated: “What is clear about this claim: It is untrue. This absolutely did not happen. I never once witnessed, or heard of, or received, any reports of inappropriate conduct, period – not from Ms. Reade, not from anyone.”

Additionally, Reade said Biden’s actions went further than what she initially listed in the police report and said he pushed her against a wall in the basement of an office building, touched her body and penetrated her with his fingers.
“He was whispering to me and trying to kiss me at the same time, and he was saying, ‘Do you want to go somewhere else? I remember wanting to say stop, but I don’t know if I said it out loud or if I just thought it. I was kind of frozen up.”
Former staffers of Biden said they do not recall any incident involving Biden and said it sounds “out of character” for him.
