Earlier this month, a woman filed a lawsuit against country superstar Jimmie Allen claiming he raped her and repeatedly subjected her to sexual abuse and harassment over the course of 18 months while working as his day-to-day manager.

The woman, who filed the lawsuit in Tennessee federal court and is identified only as “Jane Doe,” told Variety, “Allen sexually assaulted Plaintiff, while she was incapacitated and incapable of giving consent,” the lawsuit states. “She lost consciousness and awoke naked in her hotel room several hours later, with Jimmie Allen insisting she take Plan B as soon as possible.” Since the allegations have come forth, Allen has been dropped by his music label and he’s been yanked from the upcoming CMA Fest lineup. “In light of today’s allegations against Jimmie Allen, BBR Music Group has decided to suspend all activity with him, effective immediately,” a spokesperson for BBR Music Group confirmed in a statement.

Amid the fallout from these claims, Allen is now issuing a public apology to his estranged wife Alexis Gale. In an lengthy statement posted to Instagram account, Allen says, “I want to publicly apologize to my wife Alexis for humiliating her with my affair,” the 37-year-old singer began in the statement, posted to his Instagram on Thursday. “I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all.” He continued,

“I also want to apologize to my children for being a poor example of a man and a father,” Allen continued. “I’m working on becoming a better person that my kids can be proud of. My goal is to be better than the generation before me.”

The singer added, “The business takes so much from you. It’s full of temptations that can cripple you and ruin everything you’ve built. I’m ashamed that I wasn’t strong enough to withstand them. I will no longer be a victim of my weaknesses. I challenge everyone to seek help when they need it. Do not be afraid of your weakness, surround yourself with people that WILL help you,” he concluded. “Be Blessed.”

More On What Allen Has To Say

In a statement, attorneys for Allen told ABC News that the singer, who claims the he and the victim had a consensual sexual relationship, denies all claims of assault or abuse. Allen and his team labeled them “false” and “extremely damaging,” adding that Allen plans to “mount a vigorous defense” to the allegations.

The woman is also suing Wide Open Music and Wide Open Music founder Ash Bowers.

However, Bowers also released a statement saying, “Any assertion that she ever raised the existence of a sexual or physical relationship between Mr. Allen and her (or that Wide Open Music or I was aware of any such relationship) before October 4, 2022 is patently and objectively false,” Bowers claimed.
