Jesse Williams Lands Major Win In Child Support Battle Against Ex-Wife After Quitting ‘Grey’s Anatomy’

Socialites, Jesse Williams is finally catching a break in his child support case against his ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Lee, as a judge has agreed to lower his monthly payments.

The Beyond The Break actor, who shares two kids with the 40-year-old: Sadie, 8, and Maceo, 6, has been granted to pay just $6,413 a month in child support, which is a drastic decrease from the $40k Jesse was paying previously.

Jesse had first asked a Los Angeles court to reduce the hefty sum back in March, stressing that his income had been “far less” than what he made while on the popular ABC show Grey’s Anatomy.

It’s also important to note that Jesse starred in Grey’s Anatomy for a whopping 12 years. Since he’s no longer earning the same amount for a role he played for over a decade, his lawyers attested that he should be entitled to reduced child support costs.

Jesse, who is currently appearing in the Broadway play Take Me Out, declared to the court, “I am requesting the Court reduce the child support to a reasonable amount I can afford given the significant reduction in my income and the now fluctuating nature of my income.”

In official court documents, Jesse claimed he was earning no more than $1,668 per week during his stint on Broadway, a stark contrast to the $6.2 million he made helming the part of Jackson Avery on Grey’s Anatomy.

He’s also believed to have earned an eye-watering $183,000 in residuals, making it his primary source of income for his family during and after his relationship with Aryn, whom he called it quits with in 2017 after five years of marriage.

“I appeared on the television show Grey’s Anatomy, which was the primary source of income for our family throughout the marriage and for me, post-separation. I am no longer on Grey’s. My last appearance was in May 2021,” the Chicago native continued.

“The child support of $40,000 per month ($480,000 per year) which commenced Oct. 1, 2019, was based almost entirely on my Grey’s episodic fees which was my then primary source of income.”

“I had previously been paying child support to Aryn in the combined sum of $50,629 per month pursuant to the Court’s order for temporary child support on June 19, 2018 (and $50,695 per month in tax deductible spousal support).”

Jesse spent three years finalizing his divorce from his ex, who recently agreed to share joint custody with the Hollywood star, with court docs revealing he’ll “tie-breaking authority” regarding Covid-19 protocols for their children.
