#Socialites, get into this! Jennifer Lopez and her ex-husband Ben Affleck are leaving fans gagged with their surprise public reunion! On Monday (October 6), the former couple cozied up together as they posed on the red carpet at the ‘Kiss Of The Spider Woman’ premiere in New York City, New York.
Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck’s Rollercoaster Relationship
53-year-old Affleck’s supportive appearance arrives after the ‘Batman‘ actor and Lopez, 56, finalized their divorce in February 2025. The ex-couple first met in 2002 and began dating. In 2004, they decided to end their first engagement. They went on to separately purse other relationships and start their own families.
Affleck went on to marry actress Jennifer Garner. However, they called it quits on their 10-year marriage in 2015. From their union, they welcomed three children: Violet Affleck, 18, Seraphina Affleck, 15, and Samuel Affleck. Elsewhere, Jennifer Lopez went on to marry Latin star Marc Anthony. They welcomed two kids, twins, Emme Maribel Muñiz Lopez and Maximilian David “Max” Muñiz Lopez, both 17.
In 2021, Affleck and Lopez rekindled their romance before eloping in Las Vegas. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in July 2022. The following month, they celebrated their nuptials with a second ceremony in Georgia in front of their family and friends. However, in 2024, the couple split, citing irreconcilable differences.

Despite finalizing their divorce earlier this year, Affleck continues to show that he has no problem supporting his ex Lopez throughout all of her professional endeavors.
Along with Lopez, who executive produces the film, Affleck made a surprise appearance on the carpet. Affleck and Matt Damon’s production company, Artist Equity, had a hand in co-producing the movie that hits theaters on on Friday, October 10. Lopez’s twins Emme and Max were also at the premiere, along with her mother Guadalupe Rodríguez.

Ahead of the screening, Lopez introduced the film and thanked her ex-husband for his monetary help. Per People, she said, “Thank you so much, thank you everybody for being here tonight. Thank you, Ben, this movie wouldn’t have been made without Ben and without Artist Equity.”
She continued, “I read the script, if you know, I was in bed and I was just floored. I was just like could this be happening right now. I get to sing, I get to dance, I get to act. I get to be an old-time Hollywood movie star.”
While speaking with Extra TV, she told host Mona Kosar Abdi:
“All I thought when I read the script was, ‘Oh, my God, is this real? Is this happening? I’m gonna get to sing and dance and act and play an old Hollywood movie star.’ Like, the whole thing for me, and play three characters. What’s happening here? It was such a layered, beautiful role. It was amazing. It was really just something I can’t even explain. You wait for things like this when you do what I do for a living.”
She also commented on her family and said:
“My family for me is really the thing that made me who I am, that helps me be able to survive in the chaos of this business. You know ,they know who I am and that’s all that matters to me — my kids, my mom, you know, my loved ones, my team. They know who I am, and that for me is such a groundling presence in my life that I’m able to do and withstand so much and stick to the passion of what I love to do and keep my eye on the prize all the time — keep my eye on, you know, the important things, which is love and family, and their support is everything for me.”
Affleck also spoke with Extra TV and gushed about how “amazing” Lopez is in the film. He noted that he is “as proud of this movie as any that I’ve ever been involved with,” adding, “I’m really excited to be here tonight.”
Affleck praised his ex-wife’s work ethic, claiming she gave “her all” to the role. He added, “She worked enormously hard. You get to see, like, all of her many gifts, she’s somebody that grew up watching, you know, classic musicals.” He then acknowledged her triple-threat ability to dance, sing, and act, boasting, “She really does it all in this movie.” Affleck also shared:
“[Matt Damon] and I started this company and part of that was to finance movies. And I didn’t want to just make movies that were obvious or that everyone else was going to make. We really care about artists taking risks and really want to bet on great artists, so as a financier and producer of the movie, this was exactly the kind of thing that we want to do with our movies. Give people the opportunity, let them show the world how magnificent they are.”
