Jennifer Hudson has been on cloud 9 ever since earning EGOT status with her Tony Awards win on Sunday, and now, J-Hud’s talk show, appropriately titled “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” has been given a premiere date. According to Variety, the “If This Isn’t Love” vocalist will make her debut on September 12 on FOX TV stations, having also brought on board three former executive producers of “The Ellen Degeneres Show,” Emmy-winning Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner, and Corey Palent.

It should be noted that the aforementioned names were not involved in the scandal involving Ellen Degeneres in 2020, when reports claimed that the former chat show host was fueling a toxic work environment, with several of her executive team members at the time allegedly having made inappropriate comments and gestures to staff who held lower-ranking positions at the show.

“I’ve worked with Mary, Andy, and Corey across multiple shows for the past nine years, and I’m thrilled that we’re able to keep them in the family because they are truly the best in the business,” said Mike Darnell, who is President of Warner Bros. Unscripted Television. “With Jennifer’s incredible talents and the addition of Lisa, Graehme, Walter and Shani to the producing team, I know this show is going to be fantastic and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Jennifer has also welcomed Shani Black, formerly at Red Table Talk and Dr Phil, to take on the role of co-executive producer.

As previously mentioned, on Sunday evening, Jennifer made history as she became the 17th person to earn EGOT status, meaning she has now been awarded at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony to her collection for outstanding achievements in television, film, theatre, and recording.

Her Tony award last week was for best musical and best book of a musical with “A Strange Loop,” which the former American Idol star executive produced.

She had previously opened up about her high hopes for becoming part of the EGOT club, saying, “I should get two more dogs. I got a dog and named it Oscar, and then I won my Oscar. And then I got a dog and named it Grammy, and then I won my Grammy. So I think I should get some dogs and name them Emmy and Tony — and it’ll give me good luck, and I’ll win. [They’re] like my good luck charms.”

Jennifer has two Grammys under her belt, having won her first one for her self-titled album in 2009 and in 2017 for Best Musical Theater Album for The Color Purple. She scooped up an Emmy after lending her voice to the animated short Baba Yaga, which she, once again, also happened to produce.
