Whew! Renee Rapp and the 5-time NBA champion and former Los Angeles Laker Derek Fisher made an appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ season 2 which aired Monday. (October 9)
During the show singer Renee Rapp revealed she was once in a girl group called ‘Daddy’s Little Girls’ and spoke about how strange it was. Which led the two amazing singers to join each other to sing ‘Dangerously In Love’ by Destiny’s Child. Rapp released her debut album Snow Angel in August. While a guest on the podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty, Rapp revealed that the album’s title track is a meditation on a traumatic assault the singer experienced at the start of 2022.
“I had just gone through a breakup, and it was really tough. It was the first time I had ever been really in love with someone and then experienced a breakup,” Rapp told Jay Shetty. “I was living here in L.A., and I was hanging out in a new group of people, and they were partiers.”
As we all know, Destiny’s Child gained fame with hits like “No, No, No,” “Bills, Bills, Bills,” and “Say My Name.” They released several successful albums, including “The Writing’s on the Wall” and “Survivor.” One of their most iconic songs, “Independent Women,” was featured on the soundtrack of the movie “Charlie’s Angels.”
Beyoncé, who was a member of Destiny’s Child, went on to have a highly successful solo career and is now considered one of the most influential and successful artists in the music industry. The group officially disbanded in 2006, but they reunited for a performance at the Super Bowl in 2013 and also for a world tour in 2016.
Jennifer Hudson has been having one heck of a year and she was very excited when her show got renewed for season 2 and after today’s episode fans are loving the musical segments that have been added.
“I think this happens to all of us as adults. We’re so busy doing stuff that we never stop to think about ‘This is what I prayed for, this is what I wanted, it’s happening.’ And embrace it,” she said as she carried on by praising God for blessing her with yet another flourishing opportunity. “Well, this is one of those moments.”
In a previous interview, Jennifer gushed about how excited she was to jumpstart her career as a talk show host, saying that after dedicating two decades of her life to music and acting, she was ready to not only challenge herself but also show the world her true personality — away from the glitz and glam.
“The timing is perfect because I’ve been in this industry 20 years acting and singing,” she said, referring to the launch of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” in late 2022. “At this point, I simply want to be me, the person. And I want to get to know everybody’s person and their stories. I’m ready to talk.”
