Bobbi Althoff has done a few interviews with rappers in the hiphop community, but after snippets of her and Offset’s interview began to surface the internet fans were fed up.
On Monday Hill shared her thoughts about the clips that were being rolled out and shared a message to her twitter saying, “I don’t find these types of interviews particularly enjoyable or interesting,” she wrote. “Instead it just sadly points out how real Hip Hop journalism has been practically erased.
“Some of the media teams behind these artists aren’t interested in them sitting down with credible people who know how to tell stories and do quality interviews. Then they wonder why an artist’s real story goes untold, neglected or that artist is misunderstood.”
Hill then responded, stating that Offset didn’t need an interview with Althoff for exposure because he could sit down for an interview with anyone. “Yeah but offset and his team decided to go this route bc of the reach and exposure itll get thats the goal. This is how you do promo in this day and age and you have to get with the times,” a twitter user said to Hill.
She responded by saying, “Offset could sit down with anybody and people will be watching. He doesn’t need to lean on someone else’s popularity.”
Many social media users have mixed emotions about Bobbi Althoff. Many people feel like she stole the comedian, Funny Marco’s interview style while others believe she’s an industry plant. She landed a big interview with Drake and that’s when her platform really blew up.
After the success of Drake’s interview rumors began to surface on the internet and the interview was taken down from Youtube. Speculations began to circulate that the two may have secretly hooked up – a rumor which initially started to gain steam on Twitter. People assumed that the interview had disappeared and the pair stopped following each other because they had a little fling going on and it apparently didn’t end well. The TikToker posted a screenshot of a conversation between her and businessman/podcaster Dave Portnoy, who wrote, “My girlfriend says you hooked up with Drake and got divorced. I am saying that is not true.” In response to the DM, she said, “I am not commenting publicly but off the record, you’re right that is not true.”
Unfortunately Drake no Bobbi hasn’t responded or confirmed what went wrong with their friendship but #Socialites do you think Jemele Hill has a point with her recent comments?
