Usually, when people accomplish something major they are celebrated by friends, family, and their supporters. However, for Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos who is expected to become the first trillionaire by 2026, according to Comparisun — he’s not receiving a whole bunch of love and praise.

The company initially explained that they based their projections on taking the average percentage of yearly growth over the past five years and applying it to future years. As of Thursday morning, Bezos’ net worth was estimated at $143 billion, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index, which tracks the worth of the world’s richest people on a daily basis. Bezos’ worth has surged by more than $28 billion compared to last year. His bank is expected to get even bigger as Amazon has been the No. 1 go-to site during this pandemic.
