Singer Jazmine Sullivan has revealed that her beloved grandmother has sadly passed away. She announced the heartbreaking news in an Instagram post this Friday morning.
The Grammy-nominated artist shared a series of photos to her IG Story, showcasing the deep bond they shared. In the caption, she wrote, “Rest now grandmom. I know Mommy is so happy to see you! These women are the very reason I sing and write. The reason I’m funny and sassy. The reason I say what I mean according to my conviction.”
The 36-year-old went on to say, “The reason I love God! And the reason I’m strong even when I don’t think I am. God decided 2023 I could handle losing them both. lono why. but his plans are above me. What I do know is that I was blessed to have been molded and loved fiercely by these amazing women. And I am proud to continue carrying myself in the light in which they raised me! God, I thank you for my time with them! I’ll miss you grandma. Hug mommy for me.”
The passing of her grandmother comes just months after her mother Pamela died at 64.
Jazmine gave fans Pamela’s health update back in 2020 while celebrating Mother’s Day. She said at the time, On Mother’s Day 2020, Sullivan revealed how the news of her mother’s diagnosis “flipped their world upside down. Our days were no longer filled with convos of u telling me to hurry up and finish my project, but of chemo treatments and hospital visits. S**t got real, fast,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “But if being your daughter has taught me one thing it is how to work with something ugly, painful even, and make it a work of art. So that’s what We’ve been doing since October. Trying to make beauty of this ugliness.”
“To watch u handle urself w such grace, wisdom, strength and empathy for others while ur going thru the toughest time in ur life has been the most beautiful thing I’ve ever witnessed,” she continued. “You Mommy, are the prettiest picture, the best lyrics, and sweetest melody I’ve ever heard. And I’m so proud of u and proud to be ur daughter.”

Mrs Pamela Sullivan sadly died in July nearly four years after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Jazmine announced at the time, “I don’t have the words yet Mommy. So for now I’ll say thank you thank you thank you. Rest now butterfly 🦋 10/26/58- 07/22/23 💔,” Sullivan wrote, alongside a throwback photo of her mother.
