If there are two people who certainly aren’t in support of Kanye West’s recent comments about Jewish people, it’s Sarah Silverman and Jamie Lee Curtis. The pair have since reacted to comments made by Ye over the weekend, which some people say were spewing hate onto the Jews — and judging by the response, certain celebs are feeling inclined to speak out.

Curtis appeared on the TODAY Show on Monday to address a tweet she sent to her fans over the weekend aimed at Ye, where she wrote, “A threat to Jewish people ended once in a genocide. Your words hurt and incite violence. You are a father. Please stop.” During her TV interview, the 63-year-old said she hoped Ye would get the help he needed as she called his recent antics “just abhorrent.”

“I burst into tears,” Curtis told Hoda Kotb after reading Ye’s tweet. “I woke up and burst into tears. Defcon 3 on Jewish people? What are you doing? It’s bad enough that fascism is on the rise around the world. But on Twitter, on a portal, to pour that in? As if Jewish people haven’t had it hard enough?”

Curtis sharing her thoughts on Ye’s problematic tweet comes just one day after Silverman, too, shared a few words about her stance on the situation, asking why people weren’t as outraged by the remark, noting that the tweet should have received much more outrage than it did.

“Kanye threatened the Jews yesterday on twitter and it’s not even trending,” Silverman had tweeted on Sunday, before continuing, “Why do mostly only Jews speak up against Jewish hate? The silence is so loud.” Her tweet came on the heels of Ye’s tweet the day prior, saying he was “going death con 3 on Jewish people,” adding that he couldn’t be anti-Semitic because “black people are actually Jew.”

Ye’s tweet on Saturday has since gotten him locked out of his Twitter account, per BuzzFeed News, who directly spoke to a spokesperson for the company. They considered the comment to have been a clear violation to their service’s rules and policies.

His tweet in full had read, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
