Fans who attended the live October taping in Atlanta, Georgia, reported that Jamie Foxx shared his experience of collapsing on the set of his Netflix film, Back in Action. According to CNN, Demecos Chambers stated that the Oscar-winning actor recalled waking up weeks later in the hospital and was shocked to discover that he had grown a beard during his coma. “Jamie said if he hadn’t gotten to the hospital when he did, and if the nurse hadn’t acted quickly, he wouldn’t have survived,” he explained. Foxx credited his daughters and family with keeping him alive. Chambers mentioned that one of Foxx’s daughters played guitar by his hospital bed, inspiring him to wake up and fight for recovery.
Foxx did not publicly disclose his medical diagnosis and addressed the speculation surrounding his health crisis on social media. From cloning conspiracies to rumors of an overdose, the star of “Ray” tackled these narratives with a blend of humor and honesty during his performance. Chambers noted that the actor appeared to be in good health and gave a great show where he performed standup, sang, danced, and played the piano.
