It was April 12 when Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne Foxx, announced on social media that her father suffered a “medical complication.” At the time, the family did not share exactly what happened to the actor but said he had already been “improving.”
While his fans try to search for more information about the star’s health, his inner circle continues to keep his condition private.
However, close sources share with TMZ that the 55-year-old remains at a medical facility in Georgia as he is undergoing tests in Atlanta where he’s supposed to be filming his upcoming Netflix movie Back in Action. Sources close to Jamie also told the outlet that he “needs all the prayers and well-wishes his fans can muster.”
His supporters and close celebrity friends have been doing just that in recent days and weeks. Rapper Papoose took to Instagram on Tuesday and said, “Sending prayers to my bro iamjamiefoxx A very down to earth considerate individual. Sometimes life brings unexpected challenges our way.
“We just gotta keep fighting. The devil is always busy when you’re doing well. But Anything is possible through Allah. Let’s all keep him in our prayers. Get well soon my brother. 🤲🏾”
Fellow actor and comedian Nick Cannon recently claimed in an interview that Jamie Foxx is “doing so much better.” “Man, I’m praying,” Nick told Entertainment Tonight on Apr. 24. “You see, I posted on Instagram. I literally have been saying prayers out loud.” Nick also said he was “about to do something special for him and doing him a favor.”
The talk show and podcast host added, “I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it’s a beautiful thing. He’s awake. They say he’s alert, so we love it.”
Jamie Foxx‘s longtime friend, Charles Alston (better known as “Charlie Mack” or “Mr. Philadelphia”) has also recently sent a plea for prayers and well wishes for the entertainer.
