Jamie Foxx Is Reportedly ‘Steadily Improving’ After His Hospitalization, With Doctors Still Running Tests To Determine What Happened

Socialites… we were all still stunned by the news of Jamie Foxx‘s hospitalization earlier this week after the actor reportedly suffered a “medical complication” out in Georgia. His daughter, Corinne Foxx, first shared the news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, though she assured fans that her father was well on his way to recovery. While little has been said about the cause of Foxx being rushed to the hospital, a source has told CNN that doctors are “still running tests” and “trying to figure out what exactly happened.”

After spending several months out in London where he had been shooting his upcoming Netflix film, “Back In Action,” along with Cameron Diaz, Foxx flew out to Atlanta, Georgia where production had continued. Insiders added that the medical emergency did not occur on the set of the motion picture as previously speculated on social media, but the movie is expected to wrap filming next week, despite Foxx still reportedly having to shoot a few more scenes.

Per People magazine, while Foxx’s condition is steadily improving, producers used a stand-in for the actor when they resumed production on Thursday, but there’s also a chance the script could get revised so that the remaining scenes will no longer be necessary for Foxx to film even after he leaves the hospital. “Jamie seems to be doing better, even joking with family,” a source said. “Nevertheless, doctors need to get to the bottom of what happened.”

In a statement shared by Corinne earlier this week, she wrote, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

The upcoming Netflix film marks the first time Foxx will have worked with Diaz after the pair last collaborated on 2014’s “Annie” together. The actress later announced she was retiring from Hollywood and said that she wanted to focus her attention on other projects before going on to marry her husband, Benji Madden, in 2015, with whom she shares three-year-old daughter, Raddix.

But after a call with Foxx last year, Diaz was convinced to come out of retirement, though it’s still unclear whether she plans on coming back to the movie business full-time.

The 52-year-old’s influence on Hollywood and pop culture can certainly not be overstated.

She was one of the biggest stars of the ’90s and early 2000s and helped to define a generation of actresses. Her roles in films like “There’s Something About Mary” and “Charlie’s Angels” were iconic and helped to break down barriers for women in Hollywood.

“Cameron is such an incredible force and she has done so much in this business,” Foxx previously told Entertainment Tonight after talking Diaz into joining the upcoming Netflix flick. “We miss special moments sometimes, in our business, and I think this is a special moment. So we’re so happy that it’s happening and looking forward to it.”
