While speaking exclusively to Page Six, a family member spoke about Jamie Foxx’s health and provided a new update.
Following his medical emergency back in April the family member told the outlet that he is “recovering well.” The positive news is really good to hear as many people continue to speculate what really happened.
As we previously reported, the 55-year-old Oscar winner suffered a “medical complication” while filming Netflix action comedy “Back in Action” in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 11. His daughter released a statement at the time saying, “We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” the statement began. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.” The family’s message continued, “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.” While the statement didn’t provide that much details about his condition at the time, Corinne spoke out again to deny claims that the family was preparing to say goodbye to Foxx.
“Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” she reported in a post to her Instagram story. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!” She also revealed, “We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”
More On Jamie Foxx’s Improvement
As he continue to recover, some things have been adjusted. Fox— the network announced that he would be filling in as host on the show Beat Shazam until the family Foxx returns.
Beat Shazam has been an unscripted mainstay on the Fox schedule for six seasons and counting. This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of the fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx. Kelly Osbourne will be filling in as guest DJ. Everyone at Fox Entertainment wishes Jamie well as he continues his recovery and we greatly appreciate Nick’s willingness to jump in and help this summer,” Fox said in a statement at the time.
Despite that, Foxx recently shared a trailer for his upcoming Netflix film, “They Cloned Tyrone.” Foxx stars in the film alongside fellow actor John Boyega and Teyonah Parris.
