Shannon O’Connor, the California mom who has been in jail for 18 months for allegedly throwing sex parties for her teenage sons, was reportedly beaten by a group of inmates last week. According to reports, prosecutors have filed charges against five women who are being accused of attacking the 47-year-old, though there’s still no word as to what had sparked the violent incident, to begin with.
In court documents filed by Los Gatos Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Thrall, O’Connor is said to have sustained injuries from the alleged brutal beatdown by Erika Amaya, Danielle Chavez, Sophia Vigil, Marjaaana Garden, and Anita Quiroz. The women, according to the docs, had been sharing a cell at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas, California, when she was suddenly ambushed. Thrall claims that O’Connor was beaten with a strong level of force that was “likely to produce great bodily injury,” prompting her to be taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The accused women are expected to appear in court on Thursday.
As for O’Connor, she is still being held without bond on a whopping 39 criminal charges, which include sexual assault, sexual battery, and felony child abuse, for hosting a string of booze-fueled sex parties for her teenage sons and their high school friends between 2020 and 2021.
What’s more, O’Connor is alleged to have encouraged them to engage in non-consensual sex with passed-out underage girls and would use the social app Snapchat to send out invitations to other impressionable teens. Furthermore, she’s also being accused of allowing her then-15-year-old son to drink and drive without license plates and providing his friends with plenty of alcohol. Her husband, Robert Amaral, who was left in the dark about these parties, filed for divorce shortly after her arrest.
Kids at the parties that were allegedly hosted by O’Connor saw teens get so drunk, some would “vomit, be unable to stand, and fall unconscious,” prosecutors said. A parent to one of the friends who had attended a bash came home in such a drunken state that they were forbidden from attending any further “events” by the O’Connors before they had even found out about the shocking charges made against the disgraced mother.

O’Connor, who is from Los Gatos, lived in a $4.7 million home with her 60-year-old husband who worked as a technology company executive. Though he has vehemently denied ever knowing about any of his wife’s parties, the parents whose teens are alleged victims went don’t seem to believe that Amaral couldn’t have known a thing considering he lived under the same roof with her.
“We thought he was buying into her lies,” one of the former friends said. “But the longer it went on … there’s only so much plausible deniability he can have.”
