OMG! Jadakiss recently recalled one of his worst shows ever experienced. He remembered how he was once on tour in Europe with The LOX, and ended up running out of underwear before a show, so Jadakiss was forced to put on a pair of Speedos.

While sitting down with fellow New York rapper Dave East for a special edition of Hip-Hop Wired’s ‘I Got Questions‘ interview series, celebrating Hip-Hop’s 50 Anniversary, The LOX member looked back on some of his earliest tour memories, like when he ran out of undies before taking the stage in Europe.
Jadakiss, born Jason Terrance Phillips, said he unfortunately couldn’t find any briefs and ended up enlisting the help of his friend to find some underwear, but they only could find Speedos.
As the conversation begins, East, born David Brewster, Jr., asked Kiss if he remembered the first time that they ever met. Kiss admitted, “Not at all. Every time you’d come up to D-Block, I wouldn’t be around. But I heard about you and heard your music way before I met you.”
From there, the two rappers transitioned from different topics, like each of their successes in the rap game. Sharing the moment he knew he had truly made it with the best of the best in the industry, he recalled how the late Notorious B.I.G. had grown fond of him.
Kiss said, “We used to write rhymes that we wanted him to hear. Then after being signed to Bad Boy, having him tell us ‘I’m glad y’all are down with me,’ that’s a cream-of-the-crop moment right there.”
East agreed and shared his own “I made it” moment, recalling how Nas gave him a co-sign. He said, “Having Esco co-sign me, then it was Rae[kwon], Meth[od Man] and the Wu[-Tang Clan]. Gotta cherish that moment, man.”
Also during their conversation, each of the rappers shared their favorite moments from being on the road and receiving fan love everywhere, all around the world. As East recalled how grateful he was seeing all of his fans recite his songs word for word while on a recent tour stop in Canada, Kiss had another memory that wasn’t as warm and fuzzy.
Recalling a moment from his LOX days, Jadakiss told East how he ran out of underwear and had to wear Speedos at a show, “It was probably our first European Tour, late 90s in London, and I ran out of underwear. One of my homies from my block here lived in London too. So, I’m like, ‘Yo, Nerf. I need some boxers. I need some boxers for the show.’ So, he’s like, ‘Yeah, man. Don’t worry, I got you.’ And we looking, there’s nothing, though. I had a pair of Speedos. It was my worst show ever in life. I felt horrible. They wasn’t even boxing briefs, they was boy shorts, bikini, London Euro joints. They was horrible, dog. Now, I, no matter what happens, overpack underwear.”
