J.D. Vance, Donald Trump‘s running mate, agrees with the former President’s claim that Vice President Kamala Harris‘ “rhetoric” is to blame for the multiple assassination attempts against Trump, further noting, “No one has tried to kill her, but two people have tried to kill him.”
As we previously shared, On Monday (September 16), former President Donald Trump said that comments made by VP Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden may have contributed to the second attempted assassination against him. He suggested that what they said influenced the actions of the suspected gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, over the weekend.
In an interview with Fox Digital, Trump said, “[Routh] believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it. Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out.”
Trump continued to take things further and shared a lengthy message to his social media account Truth Social. He said, “The Rhetoric, Lies, as exemplified by the false statements made by Comrade Kamala Harris during the rigged and highly partisan ABC Debate, and all of the ridiculous lawsuits specifically designed to inflict damage on Joe’s, then Kamala’s, Political Opponent, ME, has taken politics in our Country to a whole new level of Hatred, Abuse, and Distrust. Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse!”
His post continued, “Allowing millions of people, from places unknown, to INVADE and take over our Country, is an unpardonable sin. OUR BORDERS MUST BE CLOSED, AND THE TERRORISTS, CRIMINALS, AND MENTALLY INSANE, IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM AMERICAN CITIES ND TOWNS, DEPORTED BACK TO THEIR COUNT[R]IES OF ORIGIN. WE WANT PEOPLE TO COME INTO OUR COUNTRY, BUT THEY MUST LOVE OUR NATION, AND COME IN LEGALLY AND THROUGH A SYSTEM OF MERIT. THE WORLD IS LAUGHING AT US AS FOOLS, THEY ARE STEALING OUR JOBS AND OUR WEALTH. WE CANNOT LET THEM LAUGH ANY LONGER. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
J.D. Vance is now echoing Donald Trump’s comments blaming Kamala Harris and Joe Biden for his multiple assassination attempts in Butler, PA and West Palm Beach, FL. Vance also continued his comments at a rally in Sparta, Michigan on Tuesday (September 17).
Before his Michigan rally, speaking at the Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition dinner in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday (September 16), Vance said, “I know it’s popular on a lot of corners of the left to say that we have a both-sides problem. And I’m not going to say we’re always perfect. I’m not going to say that conservatives always get things exactly right. But you know, the big difference between conservatives and liberals is that we have — no one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months, and two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months.”
He continued, “I’d say that’s pretty strong evidence that the left needs to tone down the rhetoric, and needs to cut this crap out.” Vance vowed to “do my part” to tone down the rhetoric from the left and said he was speaking specifically to those who claim Trump needs to be “eliminated.”
Vance added, “Somebody’s gonna get hurt by it, and it’s gonna destroy this country. Somebody is gonna get hurt. And you think about what an incredible wound it would open up in the United States of America, all of us, and I promise I will do my part to tone down the rhetoric But in particular, the people telling you that Donald Trump needs to be eliminated. You guys need to cut it out, or you’re gonna get somebody hurt.”
As mentioned, Donald Trump was the target of a second assassination attempt on Sunday (September 15). While Trump was golfing at his International golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, Secret Service agents noticed the muzzle of an AR-style rifle pushing through a fence line and they opened fire causing the suspected gunman to flee the scene. Eventually, the suspect was captured by local authorities. He is facing two charges related to firearms.
Before this, Trump was the target of an initial assassination attempt just two months and two days before the second incident. On July 13, Trump was hosting a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when a gunman opened fire, grazing the former President’s ear, injuring others, and killing one man. The gunman, later identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed by Secret Service agents.
