The 35-year-old had been in a personal conservatorship since 2013. A conservatorship of the estate was terminated in 2017 after her assets were moved into a trust. While her father was named as trustee, her mother remained in control of her medical and personal affairs.

Bynes’ attorney went ahead with filing to end her conservatorship at the end of February. His move was backed by her parents, Lynn and Rick Bynes: “She could not be more proud of what Amanda has accomplished getting through the last few difficult years,” Arminak said. “Both mother and daughter I know are happy to restart a relationship that doesn’t include this conservatorship and focus on the endless possibilities available to Amanda now that the conservatorship is over,” Variety quotes.

“The conservatorship is no longer needed or required, and therefore the petition for termination is granted,” said Ventura County Judge Roger Lund during a short hearing lasting just over five minutes. It was noted that
Bynes was not in the courtroom when the ruling was made. “Congratulations to Miss Bynes, and good luck,” Judge Lund said at the end of the hearing.

Ahead of the news, Bynes had previously made a video on her new Instagram account to thank her fans for all of their love and support.
