Sadly, the war that’s currently going on in the Middle East continues to get intense and as of this Friday morning, Israel’s military has ordered 1.1 million civilians in the Gaza Strip to evacuate.

Israel’s army made the major PSA for civilians living in Gaza City and in the north of the Gaza Strip as local media outlets report that the country is preparing for a ground offensive. This is in response to the deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attack on Israeli civilians carried out by Hamas militants.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said “Civilians of Gaza City, evacuate south for your own safety and the safety of your families and distance yourself from Hamas terrorists who are using you as human shields. In the following days, the IDF will continue to operate significantly in Gaza City and make extensive efforts to avoid harming civilians,” CNN quotes. Videos and Images shared to social media this morning showed that the IDF had dropped leaflets from planes into Gaza calling for the evacuation south. The leaflet reportedly read, “For your safety, you should not return home until further notice from the IDF. All public shelters known in Gaza have to be vacated,” it added. Meanwhile, the U.N. has warned that so many people fleeing all at once seems “impossible without devastating humanitarian consequences.”

GAZA CITY, GAZA – OCTOBER 13: Palestinian citizens inspect damage to their homes caused by Israeli airstrikes on October 13, 2023 in Gaza City, Gaza. Israel has sealed off Gaza and launched sustained retaliatory air strikes, which have killed at least 1,400 people with more than 300,000 displaced, after a large-scale attack by Hamas. On October 7, the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza by land, sea, and air, killing over 1,300 people and wounding around 2,800. Israeli soldiers and civilians have also been taken hostage by Hamas and moved into Gaza. The attack prompted a declaration of war by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the announcement of an emergency wartime government. (Photo by Ahmad Hasaballah/Getty Images)

Meanwhile, roughly 1,500 Hamas militants were killed during the fight, the Israeli government said.

The White House said that 27 Americans have died in the Israel-Hamas conflict. At least 14 U.S. citizens remain unaccounted for.

According to the White House President Joe Biden l spoke with the family members of some Americans believed to be held hostage in the Gaza Strip this Friday.

Earlier this week he addressed we the nation and condemned the attacks. While doing that, he made it very clear that “America stands with Israel.”

“In this moment we must be crystal clear: We stand with Israel,” Biden said in remarks from the State Dining Room. “And we will make sure Israel has what it needs to take care of its citizens, defend itself, and respond to this attack. There’s no justification for terrorism. There’s no excuse.”
