Would You Enroll? Iraqi-Canadian Rapper Narcy To Lead First Ever Course On Kanye West At Montreal’s Concordia University
#Socialites, get into this! Kanye West is getting an entire course dedicated to him at a Montreal University. It’s reported that Professor Yassin Alsalman — who is also known as Iraqi-Canadian rapper Narcy — is launching a class, called ‘Kanye vs. Ye: Genius By Design,’ at Concordia University.
Apparently, the course will focus on Ye’s career, specifically sparking conversation around his creativity in design, media and music over the years. Lessons will cover his beginnings as an up-and-coming producer in Chicago to his rise to fame with classic albums like ‘College Dropout‘ and ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’ The class will also address controversial themes of “community, creativity, responsibility, accountability, fame and mental health, dreams and nightmares – and more importantly, self-actualization.”

Taking to Instagram to share the news, Alsalman said, “I WILL BE TEACHING THE FIRST ALL KANYE WEST CLASS ON A UNIVERSITY LEVAL, ALL PRAISES DUE. Listen in 2013, I was given the opportunity and blessing to teach at Concordia University. Over the course of years, i grew the class from 40 students to 200 a semester, moved us into an auditorium. I taught classes on A Tribe Called Quest, Lauryn Hill, Black Star … it became a huge part of my life and a responsibility. I want to bring something new and fresh to students. An opportunity to bring more amazing guests to the University and to discuss the world through the lens of one of the most influential artists of our generation. This class isn’t only about Kanye. It’s about community, creativity, responsibility, accountability, fame and mental health, dreams and nightmares – and more importantly, self-actualisation.
