While speaking with the Associated Press, Idris suggested that people should quarantine themselves for a week every year to remember the coronavirus pandemic.

“I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do,” he told news site.

As we previously reported, Elba, 47, and his wife, Sabrina Elba, were both diagnosed with the virus last month. While they have shared that they only experienced mild symptoms, he admits that it did shift their lives around.

“It’s been about six weeks from the beginning to this point right now for us, where it’s essentially our lives turned around,” he said. “Definitely scary and unsettling and nervous. And I think that’s been like a real collected world experience,” Elba added. “You know, everyone’s sort of feeling the way we have been feeling, but it has definitely been sort of just a complete upheaval.”

Through their health journey, the Elbas have been encouraging their fans to stick to the social-distancing guidelines in an effort slow down the spread of the novel cornoavirus.

As the news site notes, they’re also helping to initiate a global coronavirus relief fund on behalf of the U.N.’s International Fund for Agricultural Development geared toward preventing economic collapse. It will start with $40 million from the IFAC, and it has a goal of raising at least an additional $200 million from governments around the world.
