Corey Harris, the man who gained viral attention for his drivers license drama, found himself in trouble once again after his recent court appearance.
Harris, who appeared before a judge in Ann Arbor, was faced with an outstanding warrant and was ultimately sent back to the Washtenaw County Jail.
During the hearing, Harris attempted to shift the blame for his suspended driving record onto the Saginaw Friend of the Court, claiming that they were responsible for the failure to lift the suspension in a child support case. However, court officials revealed that Harris had not paid the necessary fees to the clerk’s office, resulting in a clearance never being sent to the Secretary of State. The judge, Judge Simpson, made it clear that Harris was solely at fault for the situation. To make matters worse, Judge Simpson exposed the fact that Harris had never possessed a valid driver’s license in Michigan or any other state. The judge pointed out that Harris had regularly renewed his state identification card every year, further indicating his awareness of the lack of a driver’s license. Shockingly, at the end of the hearing, Judge Simpson revealed that Harris had a bench warrant for his arrest related to a 2015 case of driving while license suspended in Allen Park…

Harris’s new defense attorney, Dionne Webster-Cox, expressed her shock at the situation. Harris’s wife, who was also present in court, claimed that they had recently paid the fees in the Allen Park case and expressed confusion over his arrest.
Harris, who has faced ridicule and harassment since the video of his viral court appearance surfaced, now faces the question of whether he will attempt to obtain a driver’s license. His attorney stated that he intends to do so.
In light of the events, Webster-Cox told local outlets how important it is to take care of one’s responsibilities, stating, “It should be something a lesson for all of us. Handle your business. At the end of the day, handle your business.”
