Actress Laci Mosley who is Black, has been cast as Harper in the show — which now follows Carly in her 20s — who plays the main character’s new BFF and roommate. As many can recall, Jennette McCurdy played the BFF role as Sam Puckett in the original series. Amid her absence, Mosley shared that some iCarly fans have been calling her the n-word and other hateful words, TMZ notes.

In a video shared on social media, Mosley made it clear that she wasn’t “replacing” anybody, and if people continue trolling her in her DMs, they will get blocked. In a joint statement, iCarly and Paramount also condemned racism.

Back in March, it was revealed the iCarly revival will be missing key cast member, Jennette McCurdy. She revealed in an interview that she is done with acting entirely.
