The rookie NYPD cop who hit the headlines after giving a married lieutenant a lap dance at a holiday party is now offering a tearful apology to the man’s wife.

In the video posted by TMZ, Vera Mekuli, 26-year-old sends a message to Melissa McGarry after her video showing Lieutenant Nick McGarry went viral: “I want to apologize the lieutenant’s wife, you know, I am sorry, truly I am,” she said. “I hope it didn’t cause too much damage in the marriage or in your personal life. know it’s been rough,” she continued. ‘It wasn’t meant to be like this, I really had no knowledge of your marriage.”

She claimed her little dance was just for “s**ts and giggles” and that “everyone had been having drinks,” but it has led to embarrassment. The cop added that she’s now “working from home.”

Ultimately she feels embarrassed and is really shaken to her core over this. As of right now, neither Vera nor the Lt. are facing any disciplinary charges.
