Husband Of Viral Grandma Who Accidentally Invited Guy To Thanksgiving Dies From Coronavirus
Just last week, we reported that Wanda Dench— the grandmother who went viral after she accidentally texted a Thanksgiving invite to an unknown teenager and had him over for dinner— had tested positive for coronavirus as well as her husband Lonnie.
The news was shared by Jamal Hinton, the young man who received the viral text back in 2016. At the time, Hinton said Lonnie was in the hospital fighting both COVID and Pneumonia. According to his latest update this Wednesday, Lonnie sadly passed away.
Hinton took to Twitter late last night to share the news with his supporters:
“As some of you may have already found out tonight Lonnie did not make it… he passed away Sunday morning but Wanda told me all the love and support he was receiving put a huge smile on his face so I thank every single one of you guys for that!” Jamal tweeted.
Wanda, left words to remember her late husband through Arizona Family: “He had the truest heart of love, like no other. He did so many acts of kindness that no one ever heard about. He was my hero. And I’m a better person because of him.”
Since 2016, Hinton and the Dench’s made it a routine to celebrate the special holiday together every year. Fans who followed this story have offered love and prayers to Hinton and Wanda during this difficult time.
